FOR CITY COUNCIL

About Jason

I’m a partner to my wife Michelle

I’m a dad to our two boys

I’m a local pastor at Peace | UMC in Shoreview

We’ve spent the last 9+ years living in New Brighton absolutely loving our community. I’ve been serving on the Equity Commission for the city since it began, and hope being your city council member will continue the passionate work of making New Brighton a thriving home for all people - especially our youth.

As a pastor, I know the most important gift I can give people is a willingness to listen. The only way I know to serve people is to hear their story and seek to understand how best to help them thrive.

Working in higher education for 16 years, the last six at Bethel - just down the road, instilled in me a passion for learning. Learning is at the core of service. I’m not scared to say ‘I don’t know’ because I’m quick to add ‘I’ll look into it’. My hope is to learn how best to help New Brighton continue on a path of growth and neighborliness.

I grew up playing baseball with my dad as my coach. And now I coach my boys. After you listen, after you learn, you get in the game and take action. As a council member, I believe in making decisions that are based on listening and learning, but ultimately move our community towards a bright future where the next generation continues to experience a safe and welcoming New Brighton.
